Hi sweet baby! You turned 3 months old yesterday- the months are going too quickly for my liking. You aren't a sleepy little cuddlebug all day anymore, but you still give me lots of snuggles :) You are the sweetest little guy. You smile at everything and light up especially at me. you smile so much with your eyes- those bright, beautiful blue eyes! you have started giggling. a few times at me and a few times with Ellie and June. it is the cutest and I can't wait to hear your laugh all the time. your siblings still adore you and often want to hold you and you love them right back and give lots of smiles. but you openly prefer mom and will cry loudly after a minute or two of them holding you most of the time ha. you very much enjoy being held by grandma sandee, Ita, and your daddy too! you really don't like car rides- because you can't see mama. so when we have dad around, I sit in the back so you can see me and it is so much better! but can't do that all the time so I also try to leave you home often when i run errands. I got groceries after dropping your sisters off at their tutor's house the other week and you stayed home with dad with a bottle and I got 3 hours alone- it was nice! but you didn't take the bottle at all ha. we have discovered that if we offer a bottle for your first feeding of the day, you will take some so that is good! we would really really like for you to take a bottle so I can attend the trial coming up in a few weeks and leave you with grandma and grandpa. but i reached out and asked and they're saying they might be able to set up a viewing room so you can stay with me! that would be amaaaazing and take so much stress off my shoulders. i feel kind of sick to my stomach thinking about being away from you for hours and hours for almost a whole week. i neeeed you the same way you need me. you are my little buddy. my precious baby. i leak milk just thinking about you ha. you are an incredible sleeper! you have started wanting to go down for the night by about 7 and you sleep all night... you wake once to nurse around 4:30 am and then wake up between 8 and 9am. what?! for real. last night you woke 2x so I am assuming you're in a growth spurt, but usually just the one time. it feels unreal- none of my other babies have slept as well as you. I have a feeling you will make up for giving me such an easy time as a toddler ;) you aren't a huge fan of tummy time, but you have great neck control and love to stand on your little legs when we hold you on our laps standing up. you have the best little voice and you love to "talk" to me, especially right after nursing when it is just you and me first thing in the morning. you give the sweetest smiles and just talk and talk while i cradle hold you. i am SOAKING it up because I know you won't let me hold you like that much longer. soon enough you are going to be the busiest little boy. you are just starting to wear 6 month clothing. we started you on cloth diapers and that makes your butt so much bigger so it did it ha. you are still sleeping in my room- i mean in the far corner in your pack and play, but still. i have never kept a baby in my room past 6 weeks and i am just starting to play with the idea of moving you to the laundry room. the other day, your little foot poked out of some button-up jammies and it was freezing when I got you up to nurse in the middle of the night. so we started using your sleep sack and that is helping for now, but winter is coming and i think our room (the garage with no heating from the house haha) is just too cold for you and we will need to move you soon. you are also starting to get a little bothered by our noise in the room if we want to watch a show (projector on the ceiling!) or something. so we will see, but i kind of want you to stay. we think you are our last baby and so every little last and first feels monumental...like every first is also a last, you know? but the laundry room is warm and loud with white noise and all my babies have slept so good there so soon probably. speaking of firsts, i lifted you up to see your dad while he was showering this morning for the first time- we have done it with all our babies and they all loved it and would be so excited- and you cried hard haha. you love the ergo and we have started facing you outward some of the time. you take many naps in it still and i love it! i don't know what else to say- 3 month olds don't do very much yet haha. but we are all absolutely obsessed with you. you are such a gift from God to our family. we never knew how much we needed you. and I will thank God for you every day and do my very best to be the best mother that I can for you. i love you, my sweet son!
Zeke loves to take pics on my phone and I love what he captures. notice the spit up all over my dress ;)
we only swaddled you for about 2 weeks. now you love to sleep on your tummy!
ergo while doing office work
so strong with your skinny little legs
the pout before a cry is so cute
i almost forgot. for a while, you were projectile vomiting like 2x a day. it was such a mess! all over our bed, clothes, etc. and once even at a party and it got all over my friend's table, floor, and another friend's shoes ha. we were a bit concerned, but assured it was fine and it stopped after a few weeks.
our sweet Booga.. she passed when you were only 6 weeks old. i am so thankful we got a few pics of you with her! she loved all our babies so much and I wish she could have gotten to know you too.
grandma stayed w/ us most of the first 2 weeks and then came back every weekend for another month- such a gift and a blessing to us! and i hope to her too!
when mama has work to do haha
thanks, Zeke! always carrying a baby. love love love.
your first bath at like 6 weeks old haha.
they adore you
those chins
oh ya and you found your thumb! i have never had a baby suck a thumb this early and it is the cutest and best thing ever. perhaps why you sleep so well? sweet little thumb sucker <3
found this hilarious romper at a swap. it looks like a dress, has pockets, and is specifically for nursing like with sides that open. and it glows in the dark haha. the kids discovered that and are obsessed. also postpartum tummy on display here, but i love how you are just melting into me and straddling my leg. got a lot of computer work done like this.
Ellie's birth mom had another baby only 10 weeks after you were born. i hope you and little Michael will be good friends!
